The ancient Cellar 1619
This is the story of a Relais immersed in the surrounding wine-growing landscape, the result of centuries of collaboration between man and nature. A history of dedication and love for the land that led, in 1619, to the construction of the Monastery on the San Maurizio hill, challenging the abandoned land to make it home to some of the noblest crops in the area. The history of the Monastery, which today houses the Relais San Maurizio, is intertwined with the tradition of the place and its vocation for viticulture, which has led to the recognition of these hills as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Thanks to the hard work of its producers and to the history of its vineyards, the wine of this land is an ambassador throughout the world for the excellence of the Langhe, Piedmont and Italy. A precious legacy that looks to the future.
