Tasting Notes and Pairing
Mosconi, cru of Barolo wine in the village of Monforte, is undoubtedly the most imposing and massive wine of the winery, both due the soil and to the age of the vines of this vineyard (about 70 years old). Red fruits and spices are matched with more vegetal and dark tones.
Pair it with tasty braised meats or a grilled sausage.
Suggested serving temperature
16-18 °C

in the vineyard
The winey is certified organic.
Short winter pruning and spring vine training, reduction in yields through removal of
excess bunches after the fruit set, strict selection during harvest. All of this work had been performed by hand. To fight vineyard diseases, counter-measures were employed using an organic system with very low environmental impact.
Production method and aging
Fermentation took place in steel tanks under temperature control with frequent pumping over and punch down. Aging in lightly toasted 30% new French oak for 24 months and one year further in the bottle prior to release. The style of vinification and aging are kept the same in all the three Barolos of the winey, to underline the differences of the terroir.
The wine is bottled unfiltered.
