The Moscato labelled “San Maurizio”, is produced since 2020 from the vineyards within the property of the Relais, the steep white hills with steep slopes and the soils characteristic of the area, which make these lands one of the most valuable “cru” for Moscato Bianco grapes. The grapes, carefully cultivated in the same “house style”, as their vegetable garden, hazelnut groves and orchards, are then assigned to one of the most promising producers of the area, to whom the Relais has decided to entrust its precious and unique production in order to create one of the most typical wines of the area: Moscato d’Asti.
The wine is commercialized by Relais San Maurizio directly excusively and from vintage 2020 it will be enriched by an exceptionally special label, which wants to celebrate the union between enogastronomy, hospitality and art, which characterizes the passion of the Relais. A label designed with the collaboration of the English artist David Tremlett, author of the work of art that frescoes the walls of the chapel inside the Relais and, a long-time lover of the Langhe area.
Conceived to express, even in wine, the best of its territory, just over 5000 bottles are produced each year: a unique product, in every sense.
Straw yellow, with green reflections and white, creamy, persistent foam. Intense notes of peach and sage emerge from the glass. The variety’s typical aromas are immediately evident. Ideal with any kind of dessert, it can be exceptional even drunk by itself, with friends or at a bar.
Serve cold, 6-8 °C.
The vineyard are trained under the supervision of Relais San Maurizio. Grapes are carefully handpicked in the first half of September.
