The Carterìa vineyard covers an area of 3 hectares in the Valgella sub-zone at 500 metres; the name stems from the name of a small hamlet of the commune of Teglio, where the Fay family has always owned some plots of land. The winery has started incorporating this land into its estate and replanting of the vines is in progress.
The soil is sandy (70%) and silty (20%) with an acid pH.
Tasting Notes and Pairing: Intense very ripe red fruits, then dark spices, cloves. Ample and complex, excellent acidity.
Best paired with fresh egg pasta with meat sauce, braised or grilled meats.
Suggested serving temperature: 18-20 °C
if possible, decanter it half hour before service.

Production method and aging: Alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks; malolactic fermentation and maturation for 12 months in small 500 lt oak barrels. Then, 18 months in bottle.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES
Membership includes a Wine Concierge service that will be at disposal of the members upon appointment for online and in-person meetings at Relais San Maurizio and in the area. The Concierge service will advice on wines of the San Maurizio Wine Club and Italian wine in general.
San Maurizio Wine Club is available to organize winery visits for its members with the Guest Producers of the project.
Upon subscription, you will receive email and whatsapp contact to plan your Wine Concierge appointment and your visits.
EVENTS
Members of the Club will be informed via email and on their personal website page of any event planned by the San Maurizio Wine Club for its members.
Events may be free or with an access fee and they may allow to be accompanied by a partner.
