Bramaterra is a DOC of Piedmont, protecting a specific wine production characteried for a majority of Nebbiolo (here called Spanna) in a territory of 7 Municipalities in the provinces of Biella and Vercelli, at the feet of lake Lago Maggiore and the Alps of the Monte Rosa, that contribute in creating the peculiar micro-climate at an altitude of not less than 200 meters above sea level. Local varieties complete the blend: Croatina, Vespolina, Uva Rara.
The region is particularly vocated for Italian wine, so much so that it is mentioned in the XV Century already, linked to agriculture. Tenute Sella is one of the 22 producers of this denomination and one of the most historic wineries of the territory: the first vintage of their Bramaterra is 1902. The vines used for this wine are located on an igneous soil (typical of the area) rich in silt and clay, located at 300-350 meters above sea level.
The wine is clearly very evolved, so that it shows all its aromatic complexity and intense character typical of this appellation.
To pair with a tasty meat cut, may be slightly smoked.
Best served at 18-20 °C.

The winery conducts an integrated viticulture aiming at minimum environmental impact, as well as a particular care for biodiversity protection
30 days of maceration (16 for Croatina) in stainless steel, then aging for 28 months in Slavonian oak casks.
