The area around Dogliani, a Municipality that sits right at the border of the Barolo area in the Langhe, is historically recognised for its vocation towards wine, so much so that it is supposed that the cultivation of vines there may be dated to the Roman or Etruscan age.
Here, Dolcetto is the local grape varieties at least from teh Middle Age.
Chionetto family purchases a farm there in 1912, starting with selling bulk wine, as it was tradition. Soon enough, though, Quinto Chionetti, nephew of the founder, starts to understand the potential of the grape and of the peculiar terroir of Dogliani and they decide to bottle the wine, creating different labels: one for each cru or vineyard. Briccolero is one single vineyard inside San Luigi cru, in Dogliani, with south-east exposure. There, the winery produces its most famous Dogliani DOCG, a denomination that owns a lot to Quinto Chionetti, made with 100% Dolcetto, only grown in the area that gives the name to the wine.
A wine perfectly reflecting the bright but structured character of Dolcetto on Dogliani soils: good acidity, red fruits and wild flowers with balsamic notes and an armonic tannic texture.
Perfect to pair with tasty and rich dishes and even with some challenging seasoning.

Aging in vats, mostly concrete, for about 12 months. Bottled without filtering.
