The name of Querciabella, in Greve in Chianti, is linked to the quality of its wines, internationally renowned, to the commitment to the environment and to the drive towards the future, that characterize of the Estate’s choices.
The business was founded in 1974 by the entrepreneur Giuseppe Castiglioni, and is today continued and expanded by his children. The first purchase was in the Greve in Chianti area, but soon a second estate in Maremma was added to the property. The family focuses in particular on the attention to issues such as respect for the environment and the ecosystem in general: in 1988 they are among the first Italian Companies to be certified organic. Soon, they also began to use practices related to biodynamics and in 2010 the path culminated with the choice of eliminating any component of animal origin. The attention to detail continues in the cellar, with a careful choice of oak and the study of new technologies.
Thanks to the attention to all details, today the Estate is among the most internationally appreciated in the region. Camartina is the “signature” wine of the company, born on the land of origin of this project: the grapes come from different plots, to balance structure and softness, at altitudes ranging from 350 to 600 meters above sea level. It is produced only in the best vintages.
