Description:

Old vines on rocky soils, a young, dynamic producer of a small family that has resisted for five generations among the great maisons of Burgundy, traditional and careful viticulture for wines of great precision, unique intensity and contagious energy. These are the ingredients of one of the rising stars of the Côte-de-Nuits.
The young Étienne Julien collects the family history, with an approach capable of looking at the most authentic tradition and at the same time integrating it into a modern view. The 1er Cru “Les Busselots” is the perfect expression of this intent. Located north of the appellation, on suitable soils of calcareous origin, rich in rocky elements, as the name suggests, just 3500 bottles of this wine are produced from the old vineyards of the property.
A producer to really keep an eye on, at least until prices rise too much!

Tasting Notes and Pairing:
The energy of the producer is conveyed to his wines: 2014 is complex and concentrated with an aroma of dark fruits and a wide mouthfeel. Good tannic texture.
To pair with light game or with spicy cheese.
Suggested serving temperature:
16-18 °C
Suggestion to open it about 1 to 2 hours before serving it. And let it breath in the glass as well.
in the vineyard:
Limited use of chemicals. Manual harvest and grape selection.
Production method and aging:
Completely destemmed bunches, fermentation in steel and aging in wood (50% new) for two years.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES

  • Membership includes a Wine Concierge service that will be at disposal of the members upon appointment for online and in-person meetings at Relais San Maurizio and in the area. The Concierge service will advice on wines of the San Maurizio Wine Club and Italian wine in general.
  • San Maurizio Wine Club is available to organize winery visits for its members with the Guest Producers of the project.

Upon subscription, you will receive email and whatsapp contact to plan your Wine Concierge appointment and your visits.

EVENTS

  • Members of the Club will be informed via email and on their personal website page of any event planned by the San Maurizio Wine Club for its members.

Events may be free or with an access fee and they may allow to be accompanied by a partner.
