Description:

This wine is dedicated to the two Marinas of the family: Marina Coppi, the grandmother, and Marina Bellocchio, the granddaughter, born on the eve of the first harvest of the winery.
The grapes come from the vineyard of “Gabetto” a few steps from the village of Castellani and from an old vineyard in the locality of “Madonnina”, near Carezzano.
The name is that of the daughter of the historical cyclist Fausto Coppi, but the one who started this young winery is Marina’s son: Francesco Bellocchio, who, together with his wife, decided to go back to the roots of his land, in Colli Tortonesi. Francesco selected the best soils to start his adventure. The terroir of clayey marls veined by sandstone formations “Marne di Sant’Agata”, characteristic of the Barolo area, is paired with the continental climate: marked temperature range and low rainfall, and the influence of the sea air, which contribute to create elegance and finesse.


Tasting Notes and Pairing:
Fine and intense bouquet, of great personality with clear hints of rennet apple, peach and field grass. In the mouth it is full, round and balanced, soft and with a great persistence of both taste and smell.
It can be matched with risotto, first courses based on fish, shellfish, fried anchovies with Montebore, excellent also with stuffed vegetables, omelettes with “vertis”, and goat cheese.

Production method and aging:
Soft pressing of whole grapes and cold pressing of the must; alcoholic fermentation takes place slowly at a temperature of about 15°C. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is racked off the skins and does not undergo malolactic fermentation. The wine ages for about 6 months on its noble lees, in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks, and is enriched with aromas and structure thanks to the manual bâtonnage. Bottled in the month of July, it is further refined for a minimum period of 6 months.
