Grattamacco has been part of the ColleMassari property, run by the Tipa family, since 2002. After the purchase of the ColleMassari castle in Maremma at the end of the 90s, the family decided to acquire a second estate in the Bolgheri area and the attention was drawn to Grattamacco, an estate founded in the late 70s, near the sea with vineyards at an altitude of 100-200 meters above sea level, surrounded by a large wooded area. The denomination, with its fame, the suitable soil and exposure and the management of the Tipa family with its excellences, soon granted Grattamacco the fame of one of the most famous Bolgheri in circulation and one of the most considered in terms of quality. The wine that bears the name of the estate is undoubtedly the winery’s “flagship” label and, with its blend of French and Sangiovese wines, it is created to represent the Bolgheri appellation in its noblest version.
Notes of red fruits, good acidity on the nose and in the mouth, with dark spices, tobacco, vanilla and a balsamic note.
Perfect to combine with a grilled chop and a side dish of sauteed mushrooms and potatoes.

Certified organic, manual harvest.
Fermentation in open wooden vats for the Sangiovese and stainless-steel for the other grapes. Aging in French barriques for 18 months, then 12 months in bottle.
